Decision for breast augmentation
Every woman has her own story and reasons for wanting a breast augmentation. Often it is for aesthetic reasons. If there are hardly any breasts or after a pregnancy.
Breast implants can be placed directly behind the breast tissue or under the pectoral muscle to improve the size and shape of the breast. Breast augmentation can achieve the following goals:
- Enlargement and fullness of the breast
- Correction of asymmetrical breasts
- Restoring the shape of the breast after a mastectomy
- Improve your self-confidence
A fuller and more voluptuous breast can be achieved with breast augmentation. In the case of sagging breasts, a combined breast lift and augmentation should be discussed.
During the consultation, Dr. Biesgen will fully inform you about your questions regarding breast augmentation, the procedure, possible complications and feasibility. He works with the latest generation of silicone implants from the world's leading manufacturers.

Breast implants
Silicone-filled breast implants are used in breast augmentation and breast reconstruction and have the highest quality standards. The implants are manufactured under strict standards with accompanying testing procedures.
The latest silicone implants are extremely safe. Silicone also stands for the highest compatibility in the human body. Your breast implants can have a round or contoured (curved) shape. They can also have a textured or smooth surface. During the consultation, you will have enough time to get to know the different shapes and implants used.
You can compare and test the models. You will also be able to view various before and after pictures.
Augmentation and contouring with autologous fat
Breast augmentation with autologous fat injections is an alternative to augmentation with implants and a good complement to contouring (lipomodeling) of the female breast.
Round or teardrop-shaped breast implants
A distinction is made between round and anatomically shaped implants. Round implants provide a fuller breast and also make the décolleté appear much plumper. The teardrop-shaped (anatomically shaped) implants are based on the natural breast shape.
Placement: In front of or behind the pectoral muscle
During the consultation, it is discussed whether the implant should be placed in front of or behind the pectoral muscle. Statistically speaking, submuscular (underneath the pectoral muscle) implantation is the most common procedure.
The advantage is better coverage, also with the help of the pectoral muscle. The upper transitions in the cleavage appear smooth. It is rarely necessary to insert a drain after implantation. Ideally, no drainage is used.
Breast augmentation procedure (breast surgery)
In most cases, breast augmentation is performed under general anesthesia and takes between 1-1.5 hours. On request, the operation can also be performed under general anesthesia.
There are various ways of accessing breast implants. Via a small incision
- in the armpit (axillary),
- under the breast fold (inframammary),
- and in the nipple (periareolar).
Dr. Biesgen uses the latest technology with the Keller Funnel. This makes the incisions up to 40% smaller than with the conventional technique.
The position of the new implant inserted is crucial to creating the appearance of a natural breast. Implants can be placed on or (more commonly) under the pectoral muscle.
It is important to assess the individual skin and breast conditions before the procedure. This will of course be discussed with you in detail during the consultation.
You should allow approx. 5-7 days to recover from work. Every patient reacts differently to surgery. You may be able to return to work earlier, but a few days should be planned as a recovery phase.
After the operation, you will receive a special description with all the rules of conduct that you should follow. After the operation you will receive an implant card (type of implant, size, etc.).
Heavy lifting of objects should be avoided for a period of at least 4 weeks. A special sports bra should be worn for at least 6 weeks after the operation. The small scars are subsequently treated with special scar cream.

The cost of breast augmentation can vary depending on the extent of the procedure. The exact procedure and cost will be discussed and defined in detail with the patient during the consultation.
The fee includes the consultation, use of the operating room and materials, anesthesia, implant, as well as the fee for the procedure and aftercare. The cost is to be understood as a flat rate per case and must be paid in advance.
As breast augmentation is an aesthetic procedure, the costs must be borne by the patient. As a rule, health insurance companies do not cover the costs.
